If I only learned the functions of my microwave. I bought a new microwave with a special defrost and sensor function, but I do not utilize all the benefits. The food would probably get cooked better if I learned about the power levels. Maybe I need to read the instruction manual. I am not sure if I want to but I guess I must realize the benefits of learning about it to be motivated to.
I started thinking: Maybe some of us need to realize the benefits of God’s word and start reading it or read it more. It would provide much revelation, wisdom, and improve our lives. Second Timothy 3:16 tells us that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
As we can see in that scripture the word of God helps us know how to make wise decisions or choices. The wisdom the word provides will help us prosper. God wants us to prosper because he loves us. The Bible is God’s gift to us because he loves us. The word is powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Maybe we should read it so we can have power from God.
God in Jesus name I pray we have more desire for your word, so we can use your wisdom to improve our lives and glorify you. It might not matter much if I learn about the microwave so I’m still iffy about that one but I will not use the broiler to my gas oven again until I read those instructions. Ouch, I almost got burnt badly. In relation, well sort of, we need the word of God to improve our lives so we don’t get burnt out.
God does not want you to be burnt out. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). God sent his son Jesus so you can be saved and prosper. If you are not saved God wants you to accept Jesus so he can have a relationship with you through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can help guide you with the word of God. This way you can have comfort from God and the instructions you need to have a better life. Jesus said he came here so that we may have life and live it to the fullest (John 10:10).
Please say this prayer: Father God I accept your son Jesus and I know he died so I can be forgiven. Jesus I ask you to come into my heart and my life. Thank you for saving me. I look forward to having a relationship with you so I can do the will of father God and improve my life with your word. I also look forward to teaching others about the Bible so they can improve their lives as well.
