God Hears You

Toddlers can get silly sometimes because they don’t always understand. My daughter keeps asking me: Mama where is Jesus? She sees me pray and hears me talk about Jesus but she doesn’t understand the concept that most people don’t always physically see him. The other day she ran around the house yelling Jesus where are you? She looked almost everywhere in the house including the dryer. Then she told me I don’t see him. Where is he? I started thinking: Some of us have probably felt that way. Maybe we feel frustrated or alone; Like where are you God?

I told my daughter Jesus is in her heart and he is always here for us even when we can’t see him. Jesus said blessed are those who believe in him when they don’t see him (John 20:29). Maybe some of us should start believing we are blessed. Maybe we should take our frustration and pain to God so we can actually feel blessed. I believe he expects us to call out to him when we feel stressed, frustrated, or alone. I don’t know maybe it offends him if we don’t.

Even though you may not see him you can count on God to hear you (1 John 5:15). But first we must throw away our pride so we can reach out to him as David from the Bible did, even as he was king. David said In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears (Psalm 18:16). If you are saved God is there for you even if you don’t see or hear him. God hears the prayers of the righteous (1st Peter 3:12). If you are saved you are made righteous through Christ (Romans 3:22).

I believe God knows how his saved children feel because he lives on the inside of us. Take comfort in knowing God hears you, loves you, and cares about you. Keep praising, pressing, and asking him for help. If Jesus is the Lord of your life in due time he will deliver you out of all your troubles (psalm 34:17).

If Jesus is not the Lord of your life or you need more of a relationship with him I urge you to say this prayer: Father God I believe you sent your son Jesus to die for me so I can be forgiven. I accept you Jesus and the Holy Spirit to guide and change me so I can do the will of the father. I will reach out to you in my trouble. Thank you Lord because I know you are here for me.
